Spokable ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our voice-controlled interactive storytelling platform and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password. If you sign up using Google OAuth, we receive your Google account email and profile information.
  • Voice Data: We temporarily process voice recordings to enable gameplay. These recordings are converted to text and immediately deleted. We do not store raw voice recordings.
  • Game Data: We collect information about your gameplay, including story progress, choices made, achievements, and game statistics.
  • Communications: If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you, such as your name and the contents of your message.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Service.
  • Device Information: We may collect information about your device, including device type, operating system, and browser type.
  • Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") when you use the Service, which may include your IP address, browser type, and referring/exit pages.

3. Google User Data

Use of Google OAuth

When you choose to sign in with Google, we access only the minimum required information:

  • Your email address
  • Your basic profile information (name and profile picture)

Limited Use of Google User Data

Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google's Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We use Google user data solely for authentication and account creation
  • We do not sell, transfer, or use Google user data for advertising purposes
  • We do not use Google user data for any purpose other than providing our core service functionality
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary for providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in our Service
  • We do not use or transfer Google user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including Supabase (database and authentication services), Google (OAuth authentication), and AI service providers for voice processing and game content generation.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Consent: We may share your information with your consent or at your direction.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS
  • Secure storage of passwords using industry-standard hashing

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
